The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, comfortable and well-organised home, handling daily cleaning, laundry and household upkeep with discretion and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, dust and vacuum all rooms, furniture and surfaces daily.
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets and the kitchen, including the cooker, fridge, sink and counters.
- Make beds, change bed linen and tidy bedrooms daily.
- Wash dishes, and keep the kitchen and pantry clean and organised.
- Clean windows, mirrors, doors, curtains and balconies regularly.
- Empty bins and dispose of refuse properly.
- Keep the compound entrance, veranda and outdoor sitting areas tidy.
- Monitor household supplies (detergents, toiletries, groceries) and inform the employer when stock is low.
- Handle household items, appliances and furnishings with care, and report breakages, leaks, faults or pest problems promptly.
- Carry out periodic deep cleaning (carpets, upholstery, cupboards, fridge, cooker) as scheduled.
- Run light errands within or near the home when requested.
- Receive visitors and deliveries politely, and keep the home secure.
- Perform other reasonable household duties assigned by the employer.
Requirements
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- At least 1 year of experience as a housekeeper (preferred).
- Honest, trustworthy, discreet and respectful.
- Neat, hygienic and well-mannered.
- Able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Physically fit and able to do manual work.
- Good guarantor and reference checks.
